The Story Behind

Sunset in Pura Lempuyang The main focus of this illustration is Pura Lempuyang. The entrance of Pura Lempuyang is usually called “Gates of Heaven” because of the exquisite view of the sunset that can be seen from the gate. Between the gate entrance of Pura Lempuyang, there lies an illustration of Pura Ulun Danu Bratan, a holy pura for Hindus people located at the end of Lake Beratan, which is in the tourist area of Bedugul, Bali. When water of lake Beratan rises, Ulun Danu temple will look like it’s floating on the water. Between the stairs, there are Bali dancers performing Tari Legong, Bali traditional dance, which has complex movements in the form of a combination of dancer movements with gamelan music accompaniment. Illustration border is depicting bunga karang, ornamental art in Bali.
